Vail Blended Learning is a small school that is committed to guiding their students with a combination of digital learning and classroom interaction.  We will develop high academic achievement within each student by:

  • Utilizing community members and resources.
  • Providing cutting edge digital learning.
  • Offering challenging interactive field trips and electives.
  • Guiding students to be respectful and trustworthy.
  • Developing caring, responsible students.
  • Readying students to use critical thinking skills.
  • Developing students to become active members in our community.

  • Grades served: 6-10
  • Mascot & Colors: Trailblazers
  • Curriculum: Combination of online classes and face-to-face instruction. Online content provided by Compass Learning and customized by VBL teachers.
  • Schedule: Students attend school Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Electives and field trips are offered on Fridays and students have the option to participate or they may choose to stay home.
  • Academics: We follow the Vail Curriculum Calendar, however, we deliver the instruction through online content and face-to-face instruction.
  • Faculty / Staff: Our teachers are licensed by the state of Arizona and highly qualified in their content areas. All of our teachers have experience in both traditional classrooms and online learning. Our teachers also act as grade-level advisors, lead extra-curricular clubs, and facilitate everything from field trips to social events.

Learning is an active and social process where students are able to build relationships, problem solve, and collaborate while applying the standards.

Our standards based curriculum is engaging, interactive, and computer-based. This online curriculum allows us to provide real time assessment and intervention. It also provides our students with the opportunity to acquire the skills needed, so that more in-depth learning can take place in the classrooms.

Our humanities block integrates units of study across the language arts and social studies curriculum. Our goal is to connect the curriculum to real-world through: Reader’s/Writer’s workshop, service-based learning, industry connections, and project-based learning.

Our goal is to provide our students with opportunities to regularly engage with the community along with regularly scheduled field experiences. This provides students with the opportunity to apply the curriculum in a real-world setting and to see themselves as active citizens.
