Weekly Update November 13, 2018

4th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Lunch will be on Tuesday, November 20th from 12:00-2:00. Our students will be having a Thanksgiving dinner together, completing crafts and participating in a turkey trot this year! We are asking that each student bring a favorite Thanksgiving dish or beverage. Parents are welcome to join us as well!  Sign up here!

November 12th we will be observing Veteran’s Day. There will be no school. With respect, honor and gratitude, we thank all of you that have served. 

1819 Vail Innovation Center Holiday Food Donation

Vail Innovation Center is currently collecting holiday meal items for St. Rita’s Church. St. Rita’s makes up holiday meal baskets for the Vail community members in need. If you are able to donate, you may leave items at VIC anytime between now and December 7th. In addition to this, we will also be collecting nonperishable items for the Tucson Food Bank. American Heart Association-  UPDATE- VBL Students and staff met their goal of $400! PTSO will be rewarding our students for their team effort on Thursday with Eegees. Thank you for all of your support. 

Field Trip 

This unique ropes course is a program of the University of Arizona, Pima County Cooperative Extension. The course consists of 4 low and 15 high elements, including a zip line and trapeze leap. Students will be working in teams to finish courses and challenge themselves in new ways. For more information, please go to this link. Students who have completed all Compass work and have a grade of 70% in each core class and in good citizenship standing by November 9th are eligible to join us.

Tax Credit Donation Time is Coming 
If you have not already made a tax credit donation, please consider making one to VIC.  The money that we collect from tax credit donations is used to fund our elective classes and tutoring fees.  If you are filing jointly, you can donate up to $400 and if you are filing single, you can donate up to $200.  Please click on the link to the district website for more information.
